He simply amazes me!

As of August 15th it will be 8 years and Doug still amazes me. Tuesday afternoon I noticed the wasn't cooling down in fact it was 86. I thought may with the A\C working nonstop for the last few weeks maybe we blew a fuse because one of our lights wasn't working. Doug came home and couldn't get the A\C to work so we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Bremners Condo for the night. Doug called around to the different A\C companies at advertises night, days and weekends but soon found out that it only applies to people with contracts with their company. So early morning Wednesday Doug contacted and A\C repair man who gave him some ideas of what to try and replace first before he came out at a $200 service fee.
Doug bought the part and replaced the part and we now have A\C! I would love to fell you what he fixed but every time he tells me it starts with "I fixed the "Flux" and than I hear Capacitor in my head. So I now believe my husband fixed the Flux capacitor on our A\C unit.
I love having a Mr. Fix it as a husband!!

Baby Its HOT HOT HOT

Now I know for a few selected members of the family 115 is an average summer day but for me 115 means the A\C unit never turns off even when the house is set at 81.
If you ask why do I live here it is because starting at the end of Sept until mid May it is beautiful.
So you ask what can someone do at 115 well lots of swimming.

Believe me no one argues when they HAVE to go to Grandmas to swim. Otherwise there is a lot of cleaning and indoor activities that get really old quick. 10 years ago I left the extreme cold only to live in the extreme heat. To be honest I will take the heat any day. I never liked being cold and I love swimming in the pool.

Monday 115 Tuesday 115 Wednesday 110 Thursday 110 Friday 115 and Saturday 114

There will be a lot of pool time this week.

Tangled OVER AND OVER AGAIN

Last week Roxie asked to watch two movies Peter Pan and Tangled. Last night at dinner Doug was playing music and out of no where Roxie started to jump up and down in her high chair screeching in joy. That's Rapunzel Daddy. I love Rapunzel!
If you ask Roxie if she is Rapunzel she will answer "No I'm Roxie Jane but I love Rapunzel."
I have never seen Roxie get that excited over anything. These are the moments being a parent is fun.

Videos of Zoey Moving

Average is Wonderful at 5

This week has been a little crazy. Starting off with both Martin and Roxie running high fever (102.5) than getting really sore throats. I decided maybe we should see the doctor when Roxie started to develop a rash around the mouth. I called and got the kids in for Martin well check up and well Roxie a swab.
Martin was great at the appointment he said Please and Thank you and always asked very nice when he wanted to do something. Even the nurses thought it was sweet.
Martin also had his first eye exam and at first the nurse wasn't sure what to think because he couldn't seem to see the different pictures she was pointing at. Finally she realized he was looking at the pictures sideways she redid the exam and for the most part his vision is just fine. He isn't 20\20 in one eye and 20\25 in the other which is normal\average for a 5 year old. Next came his weight 38lbs Average and height 42 inch Average. I was very happy to hear Martin is just your average 5 year old boy not to tall and not to skinny just average.
Next came Roxie with the throat swab and I have a feeling after today I will never get her to say AHH again. I kept praying it wouldn't be staph throat because Roxie's new thing is to spray or spit at people when she is made and yesterday I was spit at and sprayed at a lot. The doctor gave each of the kids suckers and said the test was negative it was just a nasty virus going around and it would clear up in 72 hours. YEA!!
Oh Zoey has her two bottom teeth just cut though and the other two bottom front teeth are cutting though today.
BUSY house hold of tired, grouch and yes very average people.

Fathers Day

Sunday was not only Martins official birthday but it was Fathers Day.
So I made Doug a wonderful Sausage egg and cheese omelet. I tired to get the kids dress and other the door for church so Doug could enjoy the morning but it didn't work when on only wants dad and the other only wants mom and the third wants both.
I gave Doug a new tool box, two Blue Ray Dvds and a Ring from a steam punk collection.
If you do not know what Steam Punk is just look it up.
Than off to church for three hours of walking the hallway and not hearing one thing.
To the Wimmer for a family Fathers day Steak Dinner with Doug's Aunt and Uncle Chandler and Call.
It has been a very busy weekended with Randy's family visiting, Doug's 5 Aunts and Uncles came for a Sibling Family Reunion Friday night, Martin's birthday Saturday and Sunday Fathers day. It was a Fun family week.

Yes and the picture of Roxie she is wearing the dress I made. It was too big for Zoey and to small for Roxie so I add the solid pink ruffle and the ribbon.

THE BIG 5 and what I learned.

Martin turned 5 on Sunday but we celebrated his birthday on Saturday. I spent a month planning the party and putting games together.
Here is my list of things I learned about kids birthday parties
1. They are happy playing with each other
2. If the package says 100 water balloons buy to packs because at lest 1\2 will break
3. If it takes 30mins to fill the balloons it will take 30 seconds for them to disappear.
4. Kids do not care about games if there is a trampoline around specially if the sprinkler is is on.
5. When you think nothing is going right that is when everything is perfect.

The best part of the party was Martin turning speechless and his mouth drop open when he saw the bike his dad bought him.

Family Visiting

Wednesday my older brother Randy and his family came for a visit on their way home from San Diego. They stayed at my parents condo where we all went swimming in the mornings and the kids came over to my house to jump on the trampolin in the afternoon. Being June in Arizona it was to hot to go hiking or much of anything outside.
The kids had so much fun playing together and swimming together. They came in Wednesday night and stayed until Saturday afternoon. Martin loved playing with Tyler and Jake while Roxie and Lily got a long like a set of two year old always do. Before Randy's family left they stopped by to give Martin a birthday present some dinosaurs and a book. After they left martin decided to name his dinos Tyler and Jakey. They will me missed by all.

Look Who's Turning 5

Martin has been counting down his birthday for weeks! Saturday we are having his family and friends birthday party because his birthday is on Sunday Fathers Day.
So much will be changing this year with Martin going to kindergarten. He starts school July 25th and I will admit right now that I will be crying the whole walk home after dropping him off at school for the first time. I won't have my lunch buddy any more and he will start to learn that mom isn't all that cool.
Martin informed me a few days ago that 5 year old do not cuddle with their moms. SAD I have a feeling my cuddling days are going to be over soon.
I am however very excited for him to meet friends and come home excited about what he learned that day.

A boy is a magical creature. You can lock him out of your workshop, but you can't lock him out of your heart. You can get him out of your study, but you can't get him out of your mind.

I can't seem to get the Video to work

I have some really fun videos of Zoey moving around the house but they will not load. I place some of them on facebook.

Doug and I have been trying to get the grass to grow in the backyard so we have been watering it every other day. With all the water we have developed a small puddle that Roxie has claimed as hers. She tried to drink it one morning and decided it didn't taste to great and the following day she decided to muddy her clothes. the next day Martin opened the back door while I was putting Zoey to bed by the time I got back down stairs Roxie stripped off her oneis and pants and was sitting in the backyard in just a diaper playing in the puddle again. When I asked her what happened to her clothes she responded with a " I didn't want them dirty." Fair enough.

Les Miserables

For a graduation present LaRae Doug's Mom gave him two tickets to see Les Miserable. I was so excited since I had never seen the musical live. It was AMAZING!!!
Javert had the most amazing voice. When he sang Stars it was so beautiful and than his last song in the musical was amazing. Valjean was great but there was something about Javert voice it was amazing to hear.
As I was watching I realized that Javert always thought he was doing Gods will by chasing Valjean and it wasn't until Valjean saved his life that he realized the criminal he had been chasing was closer to God will than he. I love everything about this play and having read the book (Unabridged) its amazing to see all the symbolism about God and love.
I guess when Les Miserable came to Phoenix last it had a circle stage that moved this time its back drop moved it was fantastic and I hope to see it again one day.
I have one maybe two more musical I really want to see on stage Scarlet Pimpernel and Dr, Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
Thank you to my LaRae for the wonderful tickets and amazing seats!!
YUP IT WAS AMAZING!!!

What to do with a all white house PAINT

(I'm not sure why it looks yellow because it is a dark cream mixed with green and the green is more sage.)
Monday Doug and I spent all day picking paint colors for the family room and Kitchen along with Roxie's room and the hallway. I'm so pickie about colors because I know if I don't like the color I will hate the room so as silly as it sounded I prayed about the colors and decided on "Outback and Sanctuary" from Behr Paint. Roxie's room is a pretty shade of pink. I can't remember the name of the hallway but it looks like the same color as the living room walls. (If you have been to my house.)
My bedroom I really like the colors Basketry and Terra Cotta Urn but the bedroom will have to wait along with the guest bedroom until after I am down with the downstairs and princesses room.
After all the paint shopping was done were able we enjoyed our Memorial day with swimming at Grandma and pa Wimmers, yummy hot Dogs and a stop at the cemetery to place flowers at Martin Wimmers and Great Grandma and pa Horne graves. During the day Doug and I explained to Martin what this day meant to so many people and I told him about Great Grandpa Connett and Grandpa Bremner about how they fought in wars to protect us and our way of life. I also had Martin watch Tora!Tora!Tora! with me on Saturday and he loved watching all the plans fly. " Why do they talk I like seeing all the plans and ships." said Martin. I guess that is what I get for having a 5 year watch a war film in the middle of the afternoon with me.
