Poor Little Zoey

After Zoeys one month appointment the doctor asked for us to come back on Monday to check on her ear again to see if she had an ear infection or an ear drum burst. Monday were saw the Nurse practitioner and after checking Zoey's ear again she and the doctor decided she was to young for antibiotics for the ear infection and gave her two shots in the office and ear drops and asked for us to come back on Tuesday. So that night I asked Doug and Grandpa Wimmer to give Zoey a blessing. She slept in bed with us and slept though out the night with very few whimpers compared to the night before. This morning we arrived at the doctors again and this time they think they saw the ear drum but the ear is really infected so they gave her two shots and asked to see us tomorrow morning to see if anything has changed.

Another update tomorrow.

1 Long Month

Took Zoey in for her one month check up and here are her stats.
Weight: 9lbs 11 1\2 oz 95% (8lbs 2ozs at birth)
Length: 21 3\4 75-95% (20 3\4 inches at birth)
Head: 15 1\4 inches 95% (14inches at birth)

It has been one very long month of very little sleep. Zoey has her nights and days mixed up and after reading 4 books and several different website she is still sleeping 4 hours during the day and maybe 2 hours at night. I have tired everything and after talking to several people and reading several website I have come to realized that she will switch her nights and days when she is ready. I hope she changes her night and days soon because I need at lest four hours of sleep at night to be able to keep up with Martin and Roxie. Mainly Roxie. :)
I was going to write more but my thoughts have escaped me.

Sleep Who Needs Sleep!

Martin taught me I can survive on two hours of sleep at night and still work an 8 hour day 5 days a week. Roxie taught me that babies can sleep though the night starting at one month. Zoey is showing me how firm my down stairs couch is and that I can fall asleep anywhere at anytime. Since Grandma and pa Bremner left Zoey hasn't slept more than 2 hours at night without having to nurse and than will go back to sleep again for two hours BUT the good and not so good news is she sleeps well though out the day giving me time to take a nap or even a shower. I keep reminding myself that this is for a short period in her little life and soon she will want do sit up, crawl, feed herself and one day run away from me when she draws on the wall. So until that day comes I hope everyone can understand that if I answer the phone and sound tired its completely normal.

Grandparents

One thing in life I will never have to worry about is whether the kids feel loved!! Today Grandma and pa Bremner left for Austin Mn and Martin tired everything to keep from crying but once the door was shut he and I cried. Roxie was all to happy to say good bye but after her nap she headed for the dinning table looking for Grandpa Bremner. I told her they went home and she started to cry which in turned caused me to cry. After all the tears were done the kids and I enjoyed a relaxing day at home and I realized that I can handle being a mom of three. Some days will be rough and dinner might be hot dogs and mac and chesse and other days will be the smiles from ear to ear. I have realized that if the Lord blesses me with a gift than all I need to do is pray and ask for help and he will guide me and direct me.

What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humor, comfort, lessons in life. And, most importantly, cookies. ~Rudolph Giuliani

Zoey's Baby Blessing

Doug and I had Zoey blessed on Sunday and what a very special day. Both sets of Grandparents were able to be apart of the blessing. Doug's blessing was very beautiful and made realized what special spirits I have been given responsibility to raise. After church we had everyone come over for a wonderful dinner that Grandma Bremner had prepared.
I feel so blessed to have sweet Zoey part of our growing family and she was worth the wait and all the morning sickness I endured.

A baby will make love stronger, days shorter, nights longer, bankroll smaller, home happier, clothes shabbier, the past forgotten, and the future worth living for.
