Roxie Jane 8 Months

Roxie is 8 months old and she has almost 4 teeth and she is crawling all over the house. Martin and I play the game " Where in the house is Roxie?" She is always under the table in the dinning room. Time is flying by way to fast!!

Word of the Day

Martin and I were playing in Grandma Wimmers pool and after one hour it was time to go in. I wrapped Martin in his towel and and went to open the pool gate.

Me: Martin please hurry up we need to get inside and go home.
Martin: Mom I can't move (tripping over the towel.)
Me: I will fix the towel Martin but we need to get inside. Please Hurry Martin.
Martin: I'm SlOWLKING MOM.
Me: Your what Martin? I'm SLOWLKING?
Martin: Yes Mom I'm slowlking. I'm slowly walking to you.
Me: OK.

The word of the day is Slowking: Meaning Slowly walking.

Pool Boy

This year Martin has gotten more daring when it comes to going in Grandpa and ma Wimmers pool. Today however it wasn't the going in the pool that was daring it was his eye wear. Martin put on his daddy's goggles and decided to run around Grandma's home chancing me and growling calling himself batman. It was so funny and I wish I could have gotten it on tape but the pictures are the best I can do. They are from my I-phone so the quality isn't the best and Martin would not stand still for a second.

I love being a Mom and I have the best little 3 year old around!!

Roxie and items found in her mouth

This is what I pulled out of Roxie's mouth in one hour...I stop keep track after awhile.

-One Hersey Kiss tag
-piece of a toy car
-four pieces of paper
-One piece of fabric
-Martin shoe laces
-Baby wipes
-6 Cheerios she need to eat them in moderation or I need to make sure her older bother isn't feeding her.
- something white and soft and I still have no idea what it was...

I thought the first child was suppose to break me in so number two wouldn't throw any surprise but let me tell you Roxie isn't pulling any punches. One day I will find Roxie on top of the refrigerator mark my words!!

Rachel Ray and Me!!

So I have decided I need to be more adventurous when it comes to cooking so I decided to try and Cook come Rachel Ray Recipes. I have decided that what takes her 30 mins takes me about 45 mins because I am so slow at chopping. I personally would like to keep all 10 fingers when I'm chops onions and peppers. I started with Italian BBQ and that was a bust BUT than I tired a pasta with peppered bacon and roasted red peppers and it was WONDERFUL and tonight for dinner I'm making Honey Mustard chicken fingers and buttermilk mashed potatoes. So far the potatoes are WAY WAY WAY to Dilly but the chicken turned out not bad.

3 down and 10 more Rachel Ray recipes to go. Its nice to have a husband who severed a mission in a Japan because he can eat anything whether it is good or not and he does it with a smile.

Ah the joys of cooking... :)

Martin says the Creaziest things!!

At dinner the other night we were just sitting there eating and I was feeding Roxie baby food and Martin says..

Martin: I used to chew on mommy boobies.
ME: Wait? What did you say Martin?
Martin: I used to chew on your boobies like Roxie does now.
Me: Well yes Martin I used to nurse you just like I nurse Roxie but you didn't chew.
Martin: Oh I guess Chewing would hurt.

Driving in the car the other day we came up to a stop sign and Martin said
Martin: Mommy that is a stop sign and it says STOP that spells STOP!!!
Me: VERY Proud said "Yes Martin that spells stop can you spell GO?"
Martin: G....um O? or Gren.
Me: Are you trying to spell Green? because it is G R E E N.
Martin: No mom Go is Green.

He is way to smart for a three year old BUT I'm a very proud Mom!!

Roxie's new friend the Wall

When ever I leave Roxie alone on the floor there are two things she goes to:
1. Martin's Toys
2. The wall and she sit and tries to climb the wall but when she is unsuccessful she will sit and talk to the wall. I believe the wall has become her new best friend.

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
~Diane Loomans, from "If I Had My Child To Raise Over Again"

Martin and Roxie

Roxie has decided her best friend is her big bother Martin. She follows him everywhere and loves to play with ALL of his toys much to Martins dismay. Roxie loves to stick Martin's cars in her mouth. They are a lot of fun to watch play together and Martin still loves to hug and kiss Roxie whenever he can.

I will pay you!!!

I promise I will pay anyone to potty train Martin for me. I understand it is a right of passage for each mom and child BUT I personally will give that up if someone would be will to potty train Martin.
For about a week Martin went to the bathroom every time I remind him and he was pretty good at staying dry expect for the night. I was getting excited thinking we were going to potty train really fast and than Monday last week he decided he was done using the potty and nothing I could say or do would change his mind.

I have tired treats, stickers, Cars, and video games but all he says is "NO." The worst is when he looks at me and says I'm pooping and I try and put him on the potty and he screams and cried the whole time and will not go potty...

So how much can I pay someone to potty train Martin?

P.S. the only time he will use the potty is if he needs to go to bed. ARRG

They Call Him Wonderful Ok I Do

The other morning Roxie decided to spend most of the night up and fussy because she was getting more teeth. Around 6am Roxie again wakes up and I finally take her to bed with me HOPING she would go back to sleep and around 6:45 am Martin comes in wanting to know where his daddy was. I just lied in bed with both the kids until Doug came back from his shower. I started to fall asleep again with the kids and the next things I know Doug is changing both Roxie and Martin diaper and he takes them down stairs and runs earns with both kids so I could have some alone time.

I got out of bed and for the first time in a while I had a nice quite shower not worry if Roxie is going to put something in her mouth and not worried if Martin is going to wake Roxie up. it was wonderful.

I have the most wonderful husband in the world!!!

You know your a Parent When?

This last week poor Roxie hasn't pooped expect for tiny pebbles and she screams and cries every time she has to poop. I really hated changing her diaper because her bum was so red from trying to poop. So I did what any good mom would do... I feed her Prunes, Wheat and Pears to make sure she was going to poop. 24 hours later Dad and I celebrated because Roxie finally had a good poop and she didn't scream or cry.

AT THAT MOMENT I REALIZED I WAS A PARENT!!!

You don't really understand human nature unless you know why a child on a merry-go-round will wave at his parents every time around - and why his parents will always wave back. ~William D. Tammeus

The Beginning of Project# 2

Since I haven't used a sewing machine to make something in a VERY VERY VERY LONG TIME...I thought well its time. So I started on something very simple two little pillows for Roxie reading corner. Next I'm making more pillows but with lace edging and different shapes and sizes.

Wow I feel so domestic!! :)
