NEW YEARS!!!

Night January 30th: Doug and I were leaving grandma Wimmers after having a really fun visit with Aunt Julie (Grandma Wimmers sister). We were packing the kids in the car when I turn to Doug and ask " What are we going to do for New Years? So we can make plans with Grandma and pa." Doug said " We need to get home to pack our bags." What do you think about going to Disneyland for new years?" I'm sure you can all guess the answer but Jumping up and down and hugging were involved!!
Grandma and pa Wimmer watched Martin and Roxie while Doug and I left for Disneyland on the 31st and came home late night on the 1st of January.

We arrived at Disneyland at 6:30 pm after checking into the hotel we decided to face the sea of people at Disneyland. To our surprise it wasn't nearly as crowded as it has been year past. We rode several different rides and sat down to watch Fantasmic which is a water, music and fireworks show over the Rivers of America. After each show they have snow fall from different areas in the park as well. It was amazing show to watch. Than Doug and I stayed at the New Orleans Square and counted down to New Years and watched the AMAZING firework show. They had shooting stars and smile faces and Mickey Mouse ear for fireworks. As always Disney knows how to ring in the new year! We were able to ride most if not all the rides we wanted to with very little wait. The longest wait was Space Mountain and it was 50 mins.
The Next morning we went back to Disney and headed into California Adventure where they have a new ride called Toy Story Mania Toys its a ride\game which was totally fun!!! After Disneyland we left for Little Tokyo in L.A. for our supplies of Melon Bread, White peach candy and Aquarius drinks. We really didn't stay to long we eat lunch at this Amazing Curry place and left L.A. around 4pm. We got home around midnight on the 1st. It was a short trip but it was totally worth it. The kids enjoyed grandma and pa Wimmer and we enjoyed our traditions of New Years at Disneyland. I'm sure most of you think we were crazy but it is the best kind of crazy!! I hope one day to bring Martin and Roxie to New Years at Disneyland but not until they are potty trained and well... old enough to enjoy Disneyland.
I HAVE THE BEST HUSBAND!!!

  1. I remember enjoying an all nighter in Disneyland when Lisa and Kristi were 3 and 1. It was so much fun. They were so excited and had a great time even at that hour of the day and that age.
