Cheapest Teething Toy in the World

The other night we were having dinner at Grandpa and ma Wimmers house and Roxie was screaming in her usually high pitch way and everyone's ears had enough. So Dad fed her a pickle which just like Martin she had no reaction so than Grandma suggested we give her celery. I thought if pickles didn't give us a reaction why would celery. I was wrong!! Roxie was so overjoyed with celery that when it came time for us to leave we had to rip it out of her hands. I'm guessing the coolness and hardness of the celery on Roxie's sore teeth was the reason for her new found Love of Celery. So whenever she starts her high pitch scream I just pull out the celery and I get some peace and quiet!!

Dentist

Yesterday was Martin's first dentist appointment. We had talked about it for a couple of days and Martin seemed to be excited so naturally I assumed he would scream and cry the entire time at the dentist.
We arrived at 8am and a few min later Martin and his dad went with the Dental Hygienist and Roxie and I stayed in the waiting room. From what his daddy told me Martin was nervous at first but when the dentist came in and started to count Martin's teeth and talk to him about brushing his teeth Martin very good and didn't once bite the dentist. He told the Dentist he was 3 years old and showed the dentist how he could count. Martin's favorite part of the dentist off was the chair that went up really high and went down so low he could climb in.
I have to admit I was so proud of Martin no they didn't clean his teeth yet but he still went to the dentist and never once made a fuss. He is starting to grow up and I'm not sure I ready for that

I found some creative ideas from Family Fun Magazine that a friend gave to me as a birthday present. I found this cutie reading corner idea that I decided to make and hang in Roxie's room. My first of many projects!!!

Today was not my favorite of all days but Martin seem to turn it around.

AS I was driving to Grandma Wimmers home Martin just kept asking me the dread WHY questions. After the 20 mins drive due to traffic we pull in to Grandma's house and Martin looks at me and starts to sing.

"I LOVE YOU MOMMY OH YEA DO. I LOVE YOU MOMMY AND I BE TRUE WHEN YOU ARE NEAR ME I'M BLUE Mommy I LOVE YOU. I LOVE YOU!!!" I went from wanting to pull my hair out to kissing and hugging Martin over and over!!

I'm the luckiest mom around :)

I couldn't help myself

Do you know what happened 159 years ago this fall... back in 1850?

California became a state.

Almost everyone spoke Spanish.

So basically nothing has changed except the women had real boobs and the men didn't hold hands

This morning Martin was playing with Roxie and started to sing to her...

" I love you Roxie yes do. I love you Roxie if your not near me blue. Roxie i love you"
Its the song "We love you Conrad" from Bye Bye Birdie he changes Conrad to Roxie.

Thank you for teaching him that song Amanda. Its so sweet to see him sing the song to Roxie.

Funny Moments with Martin

Yesterday while Dad and I were cleaning Martin walked around the house and smelled a leather chair and said "Have you smelled this chair it stinks." This room is dirty." I couldn't stop laughing because he was s serious. Oh no the chair didn't stink and yes the room needed to be vacuumed.

This Morning

We all went outside and Martin was driving his car and stopped because he came upon a spider and said " Oh the poor little spiders its looking for its Mommy and best friend." Martin wait and waited until the spider disappeared into the grass to keep driving his car.

One final story. I started to cough and Martin became concerned and said " Boy Mommy you have a lot of bugs in your throat. Keep coughing until they are all gone."

He was such a pain and wouldn't look at the camera. What was suppose to take a half an hour took over an hour. so here are a few photos we will be mailing them out this week.

You put your finger where

Since Roxie has been teething I haven't been getting much sleep so every so often I fall asleep at the most random time of the day. Here is what happened.

Martin and I were playing on the couch and he kept putting pillows on my head and I would pretend to eat his fingers but after awhile he got bored and decided to read his book but left the pillow on my head and I fell asleep. After what felt time a few second Martin pulls the pillows off my head and said......

Martin: Mommy you can't go to sleep.
Me: I didn't go to sleep Martin I was waiting for you to play with me.
Martin: Yes you fell asleep because I put my finger in your mouth and you didn't bit it. So you feel asleep.
I just laughed and gave Martin a big hug.

My only question is I don't ever want to know where his finger went while I was sleeping. :)

Starting Potty Training

So for fun each night Martin sits on his potty for an 1\2hour and tries to go pee pee or poo. Tonight Martin went pee pee in his potty for the first time. We were so excited and for going potty he got to have one of mommy's red vines.

I guess we are starting potty training!! YEA!!!

Day at the Doctors

Today was Martin 3 year old check up and Roxie 6-7 month check up.

Lets start with Martin!! Martin is your typically 3 year old. The kids see Dr. Winterland and she is female and being a girl Martin couldn't help but flirt with her. Every time Dr. Winterland asked Martin to draw a circle he would drew circles and she asked him to find the blue, orange and red crayon and he found each crayon. If I asked Martin to tell me the colors of the crayon he would look at me and say NO. As the appointment was ending Doug asked Martin to say "Thank you Dr. Winterland." BUT instead he said " I LOVE YOU Dr. Winterland." She turned bright red and said " Thank you Martin." That's my little flirt.

Roxie's update: Weight: 16.12lbs, Length: 26.75 (Dr.thinks they measured wrong.)
She did really well and didn't cry until the second shot in her leg.

My Little Cupcake helper

I decided to try making some more run cupcake designs with white chocolate. Martin decided he wanted to help out by eating the white chocolate.

Roxie and the ABC BALL

Roxie has recently discovered a spinning ball of Martins. It sings the ABC and ever letter represents an animal. Martin never really cared for the ball but now that Roxie loves to play with the ball Martin decided its his new favorite toy. Thank heavens that Martin is really good at sharing unless it is a car otherwise there would be lots of screaming. I swear my kids will know there ABC's before they ever go to school because that ball never stops spinning.



We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today.

Silly Kids

Forgot to post Roxie is Offically 6 Months

Well Roxie is officially 6 months old but we haven't gone to the doctor for the monthly check-up so I don't have her height and weight updates but what I can tell you she loves to eat!! She can't seem to get enough food in her tiny tummy. She loves Yams, Pears, and Apples and she sometimes likes peaches and carrots and I make her eat sweet potatoes. The only fruit she seems to have problems with is Bananas seem to upset her tummy but other than that she eats everything. Roxie has also cut her first tooth and it looks like a second tooth is on the way.
